About Experiences in Crete
There are 92 bookable experiences on this site, and most visitors have time for three or four. That gap is the whole point of Experiences in Crete: we cut the full list down to the ones actually worth your day, and we say plainly which day, whose day, and what it costs.
We are not a directory. Every price you see is the live booking price, every trip leaves from a harbour or village we can place on a map, and every guide names who should skip a trip as readily as who should book it. Crete is a big island, and the honest answer to “is it worth it?” usually starts with where you are staying.
Booking happens on Travelndo. Nothing costs more through our links, and the advice stays the same whether a trip is 15 euros or 990.
How we choose

- Every recommendation carries an honest who-should-skip-it note, not just praise.

Who is behind this site
The guides are written by Antonis Kandilakis, based in Crete. Travelndo, where you book, is our own booking platform, not a third-party affiliate programme, and My Creta Villa is our villa company. When you book through the links here, we earn from the booking — that is what funds the guides. It is also why we still tell you who should skip a trip: these guides only work if you can trust them.
How we pick what is worth your day
Crete has more to do than any one trip can hold, and most lists just pile it on. We do the opposite. We list the experiences you can actually book, compare them honestly, and say plainly which one suits you and which to skip. If a famous day trip is mostly a long ferry or a hot drive, we will tell you, even when it would be easier to just sell it.
The deepest part of what we cover is the water: sailing and catamaran cruises to Dia Island from Heraklion, the Spinalonga catamaran from Agios Nikolaos, and the Balos and Gramvousa run in the northwest. Around that sit jeep and quad safaris, wine and olive oil tastings, cooking classes, cave visits, a Psiloritis hike, horse riding and snorkeling, mostly within easy reach of Heraklion and the other main towns. Almost everything includes hotel or port pickup, so you can do it all without a car.
We do not run the tours. This is an independent guide with real prices and honest notes, and it earns when you book through our partner Travelndo, at no extra cost to you.
